Multi-agency search-and-rescue saves 9 at Operation Bahamas, Turks and Caicos

Every now and again you get a career defining rescue. Coast Guard crews along with the Royal Bahamian Defence Force, Matthew Town Police Department in Great Inagua, and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration rescued nine distressed mariners after their sailboat ran aground. While the OPBAT’s mission is drug interdiction, the crew’s capabilities go above and beyond.
