Being one of only 16 canine explosive detection teams in the Coast Guard, Petty Officer 2nd Class Elliot Felix and his partner, Luna play a vital role in advancing the Department of Homeland Security’s mission of securing the homeland and protecting Americans. Canine teams offer unique capabilities across various disciplines and can be deployed throughout diverse operating environments.
Operation Trident Fury: An exercise with northern neighbors
Everyone enjoys having a friendly neighbor. The biennial Trident Fury exercise, led by the Royal Canadian navy, is designed to build and reinforce a strong working relationship between the maritime forces of the U.S. and Canada.
