Picture means more than words for Coast Guardsman

After viewing an old photograph, Coast Guard Petty Officer 1st Class Ken Raigeluw and Coast Guard Master Chief Petty Officer Ronny German realized that they’d first met more than 20 years ago on a Pacific atoll known as Woleai. The photo captured a moment in time that would change one of their lives forever.

In service to others: Coast Guard cutter crew lends a helping hand

Mahatma Gandhi once said the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. He believed that serving the needs of others better served humanity. While the Coast Guard Cutter Kukui crew was conducting a patrol in the Central and Western Pacific Ocean, an opportunity to help others presented itself and they jumped at the chance.
