- Sunday, a Guardian on duty at Coast Guard Station Monterey in California, performed CPR and resuscitated a diver who was pulled from the water unconscious and not breathing. The woman was transferred to EMS and reportedly in stable condition.
Story here - Guardians in Astoria, Oregon, had a busy SAR weekend that extended into yesterday. Over the weekend, the Group and Air Station responded to a surfer in distress, a possible hoax call of a man overboard, and a search for a missing hunter. Yesterday, crews responded to a fire onboard a 39-foot charter boat.
Story and video of the boat fire here - While on patrol, a crew from Coast Guard Station Fort Myers Beach spotted a suspect vessel carrying several illegal fuel containers. The four passengers were detained for further investigation.
Story here - This past weekend, a Coast Guard C-130 took part in the California Capital Airshow 2009. The aircraft was on static display and open for tours along with several other private and military aircraft.
