- In this story, the CGC Boutwell’s Captain and crew talk about the cutter’s trip around the world and their encounter with suspected pirates off the coast of Somalia. The cutter recently returned to California after spending 178 days circumnavigating the globe.
Story here - It is all hands on deck during St. Louis’ All-Star week fan-fest. The local police, FBI, Coast Guard, TSA and several other public safety “All Stars” will work together all week long to protect the thousands of people who will participate in the festivities.
Story and video here - Coast Guard and Army worked together over the Fourth of July weekend to clean up 32 tons of debris in the water northwest of the Hawaiian islands called the Papahanaumokuakea Marine National Monument.
Story here - Three men were rescued yesterday after a 3,000-square mile search was conducted. The men were on a fishing trip in the Florida Keys when electrical problems left them stranded onboard their small boat. When the men didn’t return as planned, family members alerted the Coast Guard.
