Online tribute to crew of CG-6017

Thursday, July 8, 2010

On behalf of the Coast Guard family, we at Coast Guard Compass want to thank all of you for the outpouring of support and prayers following the tragic loss of three Coast Guardsmen when CG 6017 crashed off the coast of Washington yesterday morning.

Moments ago, Chief  Petty Officer Dana Warr and Petty Officer 1st Class David Mosley from the 17th Coast Guard District in Alaska created a graphic to memorialize the aircraft and its crew. We invite you to click on and download the image above and join us in making this image your social media profile photo in solidarity with the Service and in tribute to the crew of CG 6017.

One must and should mourn the loss of a fellow seaman. In this case, the loss is especially personal as Sean was one of my first students when I arrived as an adjunct professor of government at CGA. Sean, you will be remembered fondly, I salute you sir as you cross the brow of life.

  2. MEGAN, YN3 PSSU SEATTLE says:

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of our fallen shipmates. Keep your head up and remember all the wonderful times spent with your loved ones. They will always be looking out for you from above.
