The Commandant’s remarks came during a speech to the Surface Naval Association in which Admiral Allen applauded the “whole government” approach the Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, Department of State and many other federal agencies are taking in responding to this natural disaster.

Great remarks. What a tragic event… Thanks for everything you’re doing to provide as much relief as possible over there. All I watched today was update-after-update of all the things occurring and seeing just how disastrous that earthquake was. Be safe over there!

So glad to see that help for Haiti’s earthquake survivors is coming from our US Coast Guard, as well as from California. All should be proud!
