  • Guardians assisted in the search for a lost Michigan hunter yesterday. A helicopter deployed from Air Station Traverse City quickly located the hunter Monday morning after he was reported missing from camp overnight. Hunters are reminded to keep rapidly changing weather conditions and their own physical limitations in mind during hunting season.

  • The Coast Guard is participating in a multi-agency emergency response drill near Boston’s Logan Airport this morning. The drill is designed to simulate an aircraft incident on Boston Harbor.

  • Later this week, the House of Representatives will vote on a resolution “expressing the gratitude of the House of Representatives for the service to our Nation of the Coast Guard and Marine Corps aircraft pilots and crewmembers lost off the coast of California on October 29, 2009.” The resolution to honor Rescue 1705 was sponsored by California Representative Loretta Sanchez and has 41 co-sponsors.
