2012 Videos of the Year: Mission to Nome

The first video finalist to start things off showcases the historic mission by the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Healy, after escorting the Russian tanker vessel Renda through more than 300 miles of ice to provide critical fuel to the isolated city of Nome, Alaska.

The 2012 Videos of the Year begins today, with voting open through Jan. 4, 2013. Starting today, and continuing through New Year’s Eve, Coast Guard Compass will publish one of the top 10 videos each day including commentary from a servicemember who participated in the mission.

Make sure to watch the videos as they are posted on Compass, Facebook and YouTube, and then cast your vote!
