Coast Guardsmen from a communications support unit in Honolulu relocate plants to an estuary to create a new habitat for the endangered common Hawaiian moorhen as part of a conservation project in Waimea Valley on Friday, August 3, 2012, in Oahu, Hawaii. The Coast Guardsmen volunteered to assist with Waimea Valley conservation specialists in restoring the natural habitat of the moorhen, known as the `alae `ula, of which there are only approximately 500 left on the islands of Oahu and Kauai.
