Next Tuesday’s episode, titled “Jurisdiction”, will feature the Coast Guard Investigative Service as a CGIS special agent – based on an actual agent, and her team help NCIS solve the murder of a Navy diver. Actress Diane Neal will portray fictional CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin.

A show recognized for its attention to detail with regard to the military, NCIS producers consulted CGIS and the Coast Guard’s Motion Picture office (MoPic) during production of the episode for the purpose of accurately portraying CGIS and its procedures as this is the first time Coast Guard Special Investigators will be featured on the show.

Tune in to your local CBS affiliate next Tuesday at 8/7c to watch “Jurisdiction.”

I’m not an avid watcher of the show. I’ve maybe seen 10 full episodes, but you better believe I’ll be watching this one! :)

    Thanks for the heads up.

I always watch NCIS with my husband, but will especially be watching tonight, since my husband is a 22 year USCG veteran. I didn’t even know they had a CGIS. Thanks NCIS for recognizing the contribution the USCG does for our country.

  6. Bill says:

Thought show was terrible. Very condescending towards USCG. Ficticious CGIS character could not even be career CG – had to be a USMC retread. Plot was not very realistic.

The show was “OK”. I would agree and say this show is very condescending. Also, most people don’t know much about CGIS and what they do. They are both civ and military Special Agents. They were established in 1915, chasing major drug dealers and such. CG seizes more drugs every year then every law enforcement agency in the country put together. CGIS is the key player in that. That is a fact. Other then conducting internal investigations like NCIS, CGIS is nothing like NCIS!! If you put together a DEA, ICE, ATF, NCIS and FBI Agent, you would get CGIS. Would be nice to see CGIS with their own show!!
