Guardians rescue Marine pilots off South Carolina coast

Guardians rescued two Marine Corps pilots Wednesday evening when their fighter jet crashed 35-miles off the coast of South Carolina during a training exercise.
Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, S.C., notified the Coast Guard that a Marine F/A-18D Hornet attached to Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 224 went down off the coast of South Carolina. In addition, it was reported that two parachutes were seen indicating that the pilots had ejected.
The Coast Guard deployed a helicopter from Air Facility Charleston that located the missing pilots and recovered them about an hour later. Both Marines were reportedly released with no injuries.
