Voting continues for Coast Guard Video of the Year
Posted by Christopher Lagan, Tuesday, December 22, 2009
We’re now into day two of voting for Coast Guard Video of the Year!
Last week we offered you a sampling of the top 11 Coast Guard videos of 2009. Now, it is time for you to vote on your favorites and help us select your top three videos.
Our second video features the capture of suspected pirates from a response to a vessel distress signal from Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment Team 409 while operating under Combined Task Force 151. Click here to watch the video.
This video comes to us compliments of the U.S. Navy and was produced by Mass Communications Specialist Eric L. Beauregard. Coast Guard and Navy personnel are working together closely on anti-piracy efforts around the world and we appreciate the Navy’s permission to include this video in our Video of the Year contest.
The Compass blog will continue to highlight one video per day together with audio from a member of the Coast Guard unit involved in the mission through December 31, 2009. You can then follow the link to the Coast Guard YouTube “Video of the Year 2009″ playlist to use the rating and comment feature to cast your vote.
Votes will be accepted until January 8, 2010. The units with the top three videos will receive a Flip video camera to enhance their ability to capture and share imagery of their operations. For more on how to vote, click here.
