  • Guardians from CGC Crocodile received an unexpected thanks from the 3-year-old boy rescued from a sailboat last week after being abducted by his estranged father. Luke Finch, his mom Christa and Grandmother Julie surprised the Coast Guard crew and other authorities who assisted in his rescue at a lunch held in St. Petersburg, Fla.

  • For this Guardian, December 7 brings back memories of the horrendous attack on Pearl Harbor that led to the U.S. declaring war on Japan. Former Coast Guard Petty Officer George C. Larsen, 92, is keeping memories alive for future generations and providing a unique perspective on “a date that will live in infamy.”

  • Guardians are working with the Alabama Marine Police and other local agencies in a search for two missing boaters after their canoe was found empty. A 41-foot rescue boat and crew from Station Dauphin Island and a helicopter crew from Air Station New Orleans are assisting in a search from North Mobile Bay to the Tensaw River.
