- Coast Guard officials are investigating an incident that occurred yesterday afternoon just north of Louisville, Kentucky, off the Ohio River in Harrods Creek involving a paddlewheel boat. At least four passengers were injured on the Belle of Louisville when wind blew the boat into a docked barge. The Belle did not take on water and the hull wasn’t damaged, but it was carrying 280 passengers and around 20 crew members.
Story here - Yesterday afternoon, a Coast Guard helicopter crew from Air Station Kodiak hoisted a man from the side of a cliff near Zachar Bay on the west side of Kodiak Island, Alaska. He had reportedly fallen down a cliff and fractured his ankle.
Story here - After a boat capsized on Lake Pontchartrain last night, Coast Guard small boat and helicopter crews, with the help of the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office, launched and rescued three people including a 5 year-old boy, 13 year-old boy and a 40 year-old man.
