Back in mid-July, the Compass posted about the 2009 Buoy Tender Roundup and the Buoy Tender Olympic games. The cutter teams competed in the olympics last week with CGC Oak from Charleston, South Carolina, taking first place. To see some great shots and video of Guardians in action, head over to the Coast Guard Visual Information (CGVI) Gallery and search “ATON Olympics.” For more information about the games, click here.
Also, just the other day, the Compass posted about the Boston Bruin’s player, Shawn Thornton, who spent the day touring Coast Guard units in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. CGVI has some great imagery of the hockey player being “Semper Paratus.” Just search for “Bruins.”
