- Coast Guard Barque Eagle attended Sail Boston festivities this week. Check out these links for some great pictures.
Here and here
- Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) is looking for a 40-50 foot speed boat that was driving recklessly on Niagara River near Niagara Falls last Sunday evening and did not stop for Coast Guard authorities. If anyone took pictures in this area or saw the boat last Sunday, call (716) 745-3328.
- Thank goodness for the Good Samaritans who saw two boats overturned and six people in the water last night near Ocean City, New Jersey. The Good Sams called the Coast Guard and then began to help the six people. All six were rescued, three by the Good Sams and the other three by Coast Guard Station Great Egg. In the rough seas and high winds, it is a good thing all six people were wearing their life jackets.
- Speaking of high winds and rough seas, local responders and Guardians on Lake Champlain in Vermont had a busy day yesterday with several search and rescue cases. Fortunately, no injuries were reported but during this time of year the Lake is still pretty cold despite warmer weather leading to hazardous conditions for people in the water.
